Driving across the Florida keys to Alabama seemed to be one resort agter another with lots of pastel colored beech homes.
Mobile Bay Ferry moved us efficiently from Fort Morgan to Fort Gaines. Two forts built during the Civil War to protect the bay. White Knight had a middle front row spot on the ferry so we did not even leave the truck! The pelicans are great fishing birds. 3 seagulls rode with us with another joining partway across. Mom thought these flowers were pretty.
The oil drilling is all over and the price of gas? Under $2!!!
At the end of the ride, these dogs were waiting to get on the ferry. I guess they like to walk on the other side of the bay from where they live.
And then the bridge from the island to the mainland is so long. It has a high middle which made Mom think she was on a rollercoaster.
