Today we took Grandma on another hike! This area is part of the Ocala National Forest.  The Ocklawaha river once was a meandering river but the Army Corps of Engineers radically altered its flow. Now the area is being restored. Swamp trails and a boardwalk lead to some of the best birding in the region. Well we did not see the boardwalk and mom just checked online comments…the boardwalk may not exist any longer. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the prairie as the breeze was great and we all had water.
